A drug is any chemical taken into the body that alters the normal body processes. There are many different reasons why people take drugs.
Marijuana comes from a plant called Cannabis Sativa. Marijuana contains a psychoactive chemical named tetrahydrocannabinol or THC. When THC gets into the bloodstream, it interrupts the normal behavior of the brain, heart rate, and cells.
You are a research expert hired by the Department of Health and Human Services to investigate the drugs available to teens today. You will be assigned a particular drug to research. The Department of Health and Human Services would like to know the social, physical and, psychological implications of the drug on people. After researching the information, you will be required to make a fact-based presentation with a persuasive position as to why NOT to use this drug.
