Random holiday:  

Each year on November 22, cranberry lovers across the country observe National Cranberry Relish Day.  This day is celebrated one day prior to National Eat a Cranberry Day.  Believed to have originated in the New England States during the early 1900s, Cranberry Relish is a traditional part of many families Thanksgiving dinner.  And from the entire morning news crew, we want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!  Enjoy your families, enjoy good food, be safe, and we’ll see you back at school on Monday!

Anchor 1:

Jeans for Teens is happening now through January 4th.  Bring in gently used clothes to your homeroom teachers for people in need  and receive a raffle ticket for a $10 gift card in exchange for each donation.  Every Friday Los Leones will collect the clothes. The homerooms from each grade level that collect the most clothing donations will win a pizza party.  We can’t wait to show the community how strong we are!

 

Anchor 2:

Do you like free things? Do you have what it takes to be A Lion? Well the school store is open to everyone who has pride props, you must earn the pride prop and than you can “buy” things of your choice. The school store is open Tuesday,Wednesday,and Thursday. From 3-3:10

Now from the counseling office: We will be starting our College and Career Lunch Program this month:  throughout the year and twice a month we will have speakers from various careers come to the school to discuss their profession – the education and skills needed to be successful, how they obtained those skills, and how someone interested in the profession might proceed.

On Friday, Decemeber 8th – Captain Rutten of the Kensington Fire & Rescue will discuss his profession.

If you are interested in this profession, please talk to a counselor. There will be other speakers from other professions throughout the school year. Please stay tuned.

 

Anchor 3:

 

“Attention 7th & 8th grade students- are you interested in playing basketball this winter for Loiederman? You should be! Mark your calendars- stop by our interest meeting on November 28th to learn more about what tryouts will look like and get the necessary forms to fill out. Tryouts will be December 5th, 6th, and 7th. Hope to see you there! Also take some time to start introducing yourself to the coaches- Girls’ basketball coaches this year are Ms. Dillon and Mr. Croghan and Boys’ basketball coach is Mr. Bugg.”

The next National Junior Honors Society Meeting will be on Tuesday, November 28th from 3:10 till 4:20 in the Media Center.
